SUGARSYNC ON IPAD UPGRADE
The sole reason we are hesitant to recommend SugarSync is that it doesn't provide any tools or services that other cloud storage services don't already offer, and the upgrade option is limited to just 30GB a year. All of this is well done and the result is a strong, cloud-based app with a media focus. Sharing is also easy with a separate set of sharing menus and contacts built into the app. You can set it to automatically back up photos and videos, while setting the quality at which those files are backed up and you can organize your files by content or photos fairly easily. It installs on all iOS devices and syncs your files in the cloud.
SUGARSYNC ON IPAD FREE
Sign up for a free account and you receive 5GB of storage that you can use for files on your device or computer. SugarSync is very much like other cloud storage tools like Dropbox and Box.net. While the focus on video and image backup is good on a device with a camera and far too little built-in storage, it doesn't offer more than its competitors to truly stand out. However, due to limited upgrade options, it will only work for a certain group of people. With SugarSync, you always have any file to hand, and all in one place.SugarSync attempts to do what other services before it have done well-provide an extended storage solution for the iOS platform. This is a lot handier than Apple's clunky solution which involves emailing things to yourself or dragging files into each app's storage area in iTunes. Word docs can be sent off to Pages, for example, where you can edit them. Now, thanks to OS 3.2, you can tap a file and choose to open it with any compatible app on the iPad.
SUGARSYNC ON IPAD UPDATE
What this iPad update adds is document sharing. This means that you not only have an offsite backup but you can access and edit your documents wherever you may be. It works like many cloud-sync apps: You point it at, say, a folder on your computer and when any file is changed or added, it is automatically mirrored in the inter-ether. SugarSync is an application for Windows, Mac, iPhone, BlackBerry and now the iPad. Until then, we have workarounds like this one from SugarSync. When somebody writes an iPad app which both syncs files with the cloud and lets you edit them, they'll make a killing at the App Store.
